The following method has been suggested by Paul McHale:
Let's say you want to simulate R2, which is a 10K variable resistor, going from maximum value to zero in one second. First you create a DC PWL voltage source, which change from 10KV to zero volt in one second and label it as V(v_r). Then set the value of R2 to R=V(v_r) as shown. Now you can do a .tran 1 simulation and get the value of Vout. By creating a voltage source using PWL, by changing the actual voltage, you can simulate any change of resistance in any time period. Remember, a 100 Ohm VR requires 100V, a 10K VR requires 10KV, a 1M ohm VR requires 1,000,000V.
