you should take a look at picc-lite and hi-tide from htsoft.com.
download it and install it on your computer and play with some of the chips. hi-tide is an ide and very use-friendly (much better than mplab and uses eclipse so your skills learned on hi-tide will be transferrable should you want to learn other ides).
I would suggest that you pick a mid-range chip (12F675 for example) and go from there.
for beginners, stay with C. assembly is much harder to learn and harder to get it right. |
